Now we need to talk about footage that requires a recompression to Avid Media, for you to work with in your Media Composer timelines. Whether it’s in an offline or online scenario, there is some footage, like RED footage that cannot be worked with natively. In that case Transcoding it before you work with it is essential, and in this lesson, we’re going to talk about a few different scenarios where you can transcode media, and when it’s best to do so.
